Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between PMU and Microblading?

Although PMU does not last forever, it is more permanent than microblading. PMU can be done on many parts of the face, microblading is for eyebrows only. PMU is done using an electronically powered tattoo machine. Microblading uses a handheld tool similar to an exact-o knife and does not require electricity.

  • How much does microblading and PMU cost?

Pricing can be found on the website under the pricing and polices tab.

The average cost is between 400-800 but varies by procedure, demographic, and skill. The cost should not be the most important issue when consulting these services. Most important is the training and skill of the artist performing the procedures.

  • How long does each procedure take?

Appointments are around 2-3 hours, depending on which service you have done. The first hour is for measuring, outlining and numbing. Touch up appointments typically last about 1-2 hours.

  • Are there any side effects?

Eyebrows show little after effect, while liner and lips may show slight to moderate swelling. Some people swell more than others from minor skin injuries. During the procedure there may be some minor bleeding. This again, is client specific. Bruising is rare but can occur.

  • What if I don't like it?

Although PMU is considered permanent, these procedures do have some flexibility in changing the color and shape to some extent. Colors will appear darker immediately after procedure but will soften and lighten during the healing process. There are several methods of tattoo removal if needed, be sure to have good communication with your artist beforehand. Microblading is considered semi-permanent, adjustments can be made at touch ups.

  • How long does it take for PMU and Microblading to heal?

Both take about 7-10 days to heal. It is important to apply ointment and keep the treated area clean. Please avoid sun, swimming, saunas, and applying make-up to the treated area.

  • Does it hurt?

With microblading and PMU, a topical anesthetic is applied to the area before and during the process.

Pain is minimal to none.

  • Do I need to shave, pluck, or wax prior to my appointment?

No, please do NOT provide any maintenance prior to your appointment.

  • Can I get Microblading or PMU if I am pregnant or nursing?

As a precaution, pregnant women cannot be tattooed. Nursing is acceptable with doctor permission.

  • Can I return to work after my procedure?

Yes, recovery time is little to none, if your profession doesn't interfere with my recommended aftercare guidelines.
